Company History: 30 Years in the Making
Regency Home Care was founded on the personal experiences of Don Irish in caring for his own stepfather in the late 1970s, who was left a quadriplegic after suffering a work related accident. Don's family tried hiring agencies, companies and individuals to provide care, but there were constant problems in getting them to live up to their promises or show they really cared. Because of constant and continuing difficulties and disappointments, Don started an in-home care company to gain control over his own situation. While achieving that improvement something surprising happened. His stepfather's physicians were so pleased with the level of care, service and coordination his stepfather and they were experiencing that they began referring many of their other patients needing similar support. Don's family realized that out of their own tragedy something good and positive could be established to help others faced with similar home care needs.
